Shipping & State Firearms Compliance Policy
State & Local Firearms Restrictions
Firearm laws vary by state and locality. Hudson Valley Arms complies with all federal, state, and local laws and will only ship products to locations where they are legal to possess.
It is the customer’s responsibility to know and understand their local laws before placing an order.
Orders placed for items that are restricted or prohibited in the customer’s state will not be shipped and may be canceled or subject to restocking fees.
Restricted Items by State (Examples)
We do not ship the following items to the states listed below, including but not limited to:
Magazine Capacity Restrictions
- California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland
- Magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds
Assault Weapon / Feature Restrictions
- California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts
- Firearms classified as “assault weapons” under state law
- Firearms with prohibited features such as:
- Threaded barrels
- Adjustable or folding stocks
- Flash hiders
- Pistol grips (where restricted)
Handgun & Roster Restrictions
- California
- Handguns not listed on the California DOJ Roster of Certified Handguns
Firearm Type Restrictions
- Illinois
- Firearms and accessories restricted under state or local law
- Washington
- Certain semi-automatic firearms and magazine capacity limits
- Delaware
- Firearms restricted under current state regulations
Other Restricted Items
- High-capacity magazines
- Binary triggers
- Bump stocks
- Certain NFA-regulated items (where prohibited)
Compliance & Order Review
All orders are manually reviewed for legal compliance prior to shipment.
- If an item is not legal in your state:
- The order will be canceled
- OR modified where legally possible (e.g., compliant magazine substitution)
- Shipping charges are non-refundable
- Restocking fees may apply
FFL Transfers
- Firearms must be shipped to a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder
- The receiving FFL must comply with all state and local regulations
- We reserve the right to refuse shipment to any FFL or jurisdiction
